How sponsorship works
Where sponsorship appears
Ranking Sponsorship includes visibility near the ranking header and a clearly labeled sponsored card inside the ranking list. City Grid Placements are sold separately.
One sponsor. Two placements.
When a brand sponsors a ranking, that same sponsor receives visibility in two places: at the top of the ranking page and inside the ranking list. No second advertiser can buy placement inside a sponsored ranking.

The sponsor logo appears on a clean white panel near the ranking title, clearly separated from community votes.
In-list sponsored card
A sponsored card from the same ranking sponsor appears between organic results, never in the Top 3. One ranking, one sponsor: no competing advertiser appears inside the same sponsored ranking.
Community-first policy. If a ranking sponsor does not use the in-list placement, Best of My City may dedicate that space to a community cause.

Category conflict rules
Support a category,
not your competition.
To protect community trust, sponsors can support relevant categories, but never the exact category where they compete.
Not allowed: direct category conflict

- ✕A burger restaurant cannot sponsor Best Burger
- ✕A karaoke bar cannot sponsor Best Karaoke Bar
- ✕A personal trainer cannot sponsor Best Personal Trainer

- ✓Best Tacos al Pastor can be sponsored by A soft drink brand, delivery partner, or food festival
- ✓Best Karaoke Bar can be sponsored by A beer brand, music sponsor, or ride-share partner
- ✓Best Beach Club can be sponsored by A sunscreen brand, hotel group, or transportation company
Category sponsorships are reviewed before approval. Best of My City reserves the right to refuse sponsorships that create a conflict of interest or that could mislead the community about the independence of the rankings.
Platform integrity
The rules that protect community trust
Advertising supports the platform. Votes decide the rankings.
Ads never change rankings
Votes determine rankings. Sponsored placements do not add votes, remove votes, or change ranking position. The leaderboard is community-only.
Direct category conflicts are not allowed
A business cannot sponsor the exact category where it directly competes. A taco restaurant cannot sponsor Best Tacos al Pastor. A gym cannot sponsor Best Gym.
Sponsors are always clearly labeled
Every sponsored placement is visibly marked as advertising. Users always know what is a paid placement and what is a community-ranked result.
The community decides winners
Rankings are built on real community votes. Advertising helps fund the platform. It cannot buy a higher rank, a winner label, or extra votes.
